VRC Family Recognition (Purple) Day – A Salute to Military Families
HARRISBURG, September 11, 2007 — Veterans Resource Central (VRC) is proud to announce that Saturday, October 13 has been designated by State Senate Resolution as PA Military Family Day -- a day to honor the sacrifices made by military families. War takes its toll not only on the service members who fight in the field but also on the families who wait and worry at home
Mark your calendar. You are invited to attend VRC Family Recognition (Purple) Day – A Salute to Military Families in the Capitol Rotunda on Saturday, October 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. It is our goal to raise awareness of the sacrifices that military families have made, and continue to make. The color purple symbolizes that all branches of the military are united as one.
- Date: October 13, 2007
- Time: 10:00 - 11:00 am
- Place: Capitol Rotunda, Harrisburg , PA
Community support is vital to the success of this event. VRC invites corporations, government agencies, churches and civic organizations in Pennsylvania to acknowledge PA military families on, or close to, October 13th. Families include direct relatives – husband, wives, sons, daughters, parents, sisters and brochures. You could:
- have them stand and be acknowledged in church
- say a prayer over them in synagogue
- take a minute to thank a neighbor or business associate for their sacrifice
