Family Support
Our deployed military personnel are making a great sacrifice for their country. There are unique difficulties that families of military personnel on extended deployments are experiencing: inadequate health care, declining incomes, high personal stress and harassing creditors.
Community Outreach
The VRC FamilyCenter is stepping forward to provide the resources, support and help these families need. The essence of the FamilyCenter is to provide quality of life assistance to the families here at home. We will do this by:
- Raising awareness of the situations faced by military families and by returning veterans
- Providing practical assistance and sponsoring events that support families and veterans
The FamilyCenter will provide support, resource access, problem resolution and assistance to the families of deployed and recently returned members and families of all services and components (Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard) by provided trusted service and support that fills gaps not covered by existing DoD programs
The FamilyCenter will:
- Leverage the collective knowledge and power of local communities, churches, civic organizations, veterans’ organizations and others to provided needed services and support at low/no cost.
- Develop a network of volunteer Facilitators who provide face-to-face customer service and interaction with families and veterans in their selected geographic areas.
